This three-story prototype is designed to accommodate a stand-alone emergency department, imaging center, physical therapy center and physician office space.

The project adopts a retail approach by using loggias to create comfortable exterior circulation with entrances into ground-floor tenant areas. The three main components—lobby, physician office, and medical component—are split up to give the feel of a campus and to create inviting outdoor spaces. An entry courtyard is formed between these three “buildings” to establish a place of respite for the patients as well as staff. All campuses are planned to be built in locations that are currently rural growth Dallas-Fort Worth exurbs. The architecture respects the rural surrounding with the use of local stone walls and columns, but weaves in light and modern materials to give the campus an open, progressive quality.
