Cinven acquired the 7,400sqft of space, including the existing modifications by the previous tenant, for its close proximity to their existing offices at Warwick Court across Paternoster Square. The accommodation strategy was to fitout Paternoster House to house all of the support staff leaving enough space within Warwick Court for their investment team to grow.
Cinven operate in an exclusive commercial environment with a primary client base made up of the leading institutions in Europe and North America. The genre of their clients is reflected by their highly experienced senior staff. The design drivers revolve around client focus and care, together with staff attraction and retention. For the clients this includes impressive, spacious meeting room suites with high quality materials and subtle finishes, full audio visual and presentation conference facilities, concierge and butler service offering fine dining and for the staff, a generous space standard, excellent dining facilities and showers to rival a 5 star hotel. The nature of their work demands extreme acoustic privacy throughout.
The brief was to accommodate 28 staff in a mixture of semi open-plan and cellular offices. This incorporated three open areas for teams of 6 people, three large offices to accommodate 2 – 3 people and three individual offices for directors. Plus, a meeting room suite, staff dining, print/copy room, shower room, IT server room and secure store. The key adjacencies to be satisfied were to keep staff close to managers, accounts close to the secure filing and the dining room located as centrally as possible.
The design brief required high quality facilities and finishes, allow for future expansion, efficient working and flexibility. For instance, the provision of well appointed meeting rooms to allow Cinven to entertain clients or accommodate external auditors.
