More than 75 years ago, Perkins+Will gained national recognition for educational design with our first project, Crow Island Elementary School. The factors that influenced the design of Crow Island - innovation, collaboration and sustainability – provided the foundation for our education philosophy that stems from the belief that people's lives can be improved through the design of the built environment. Our experience and expertise informs our planning process that infuses the principles of observation, knowledge sharing, and visioning.

Implicit in every project is a mission of sustainability that defines the Perkins+Will practice. Healthy learning environments are at the core of what we do, and we believe they are the catalyst to creating healthy communities. We offer expertise in architecture, interiors and planning + strategies and experience in rural, urban, suburban and international settings. Our capabilities include new long-term planning, school construction, additions, renovations, programming, design guidelines, branding and graphics, feasibility studies, facility assessments, referendum support, and pre- and post-occupancy studies.

Our earliest school projects remain relevant even today, proving we understand that true innovation responds to whatever comes next.
