Ernest has proven his leadership ability on many project types, including sports, recreation, human performance, wellness, office, retail, and mixed use projects. He is known for his ability to quickly analyze issues, establish a vision and an implementable workplan to arrive at award-winning solutions.
He is a recognized expert in sports and recreation design and has presented at seminars nationwide including the Athletic Business Conference and the National Recreation and Park Association’s Annual Conference. Some of his notable projects include the University of Michigan Crisler Arena Renovation/Expansion, Chesapeake Energy Arena(home of the NBA OKC Thunder), Parker Fieldhouse, and the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
As a citizen-architect, Ernest has volunteered with many organizations including AIA Colorado (President), Architectural Education Foundation (President), Beacon Manor Affordable Housing (President), Reach Community Development, and HAND Neighborhood Association.
Ernest holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Washington and Lee University and graduated cum laude with a Master of Architecture from Clemson University. He also completed the graduate program at the Daniels Center for Architectural Studies in Genoa, Italy.
