The Chicago office of Perkins+Will is the firm's founding office. Established in 1935 by Lawrence Perkins and Philip Will, Jr., the office remains the largest in the firm, harnessing the expertise of more than 200 architects, interior designers, planners, and brand strategists. The office's interdisciplinary work spans nearly every arena, including K-12 and higher education, healthcare, corporate, commercial & civic and science & technology. From its initial project nearly 80 years ago – the acclaimed Crow Island School – to our award-winning work for the Shanghai Natural History Museum, Newell Rubbermaid Design Center, Rush University Medical Center, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, and the US Coast Guard Headquarters, the Chicago office has a legacy of award-winning design excellence. It has garnered hundreds of awards from prestigious industry publications and organizations in the region and around the world.
