Pringle Brandon Perkins+Will has completed a striking new gallery with meeting rooms for global property investment management company TH Real Estate at its 201 Bishopsgate headquarters in the City of London.
The gallery will be used to showcase TH Real Estate's global developments using architectural models set against two large interactive media walls. The gallery space also contains a "collaboration zone" which has been designed as a flexible area in which teams can develop ideas and strategies.
TH Real Estate, launched in April 2014, was formed by USA-based TIAA-CREF and UK-headquartered Henderson Global Investors and manages $23bn (£14bn) of property assets in Europe and Asia. The merger of the two companies' European and Asian interests "created a new powerhouse in global real estate", according to TH Real Estate chief executive officer James Darkins.
"TH Real estate wanted to create a distinctive space that expressed its independence from the parent companies," said Pringle Brandon Perkins+Will principal Jack Pringle. "It was decided early on not to have a dedicated reception area, but to use the space as a gallery to showcase the company's global portfolio."
The gallery and collaboration zone combine to provide TH Real Estate with a function room for launches and other events. Four meeting rooms form part of the design too. Moveable partitions that fold up into the ceiling space provide a high degree of flexibility for reconfiguring these meeting rooms as required.
A distinctive triangular motif has been utilised which breaks the customary rectangular grid in many buildings and visually infers movement and transformation.
"Using a gallery in this way enables TH Real Estate to demonstrate the breadth and depth of its work and the long pedigree that results from the merger of the two companies," Pringle said.
