Perkins+Will to Present at Inaugural European Healthcare Design Congress

Perkins+Will will be joining some of the healthcare industry’s leading researches, policy-makers and practitioners at the inaugural European Healthcare Design Congress, held next week at the Royal College of Physicians, London, 22 – 23 June.

Organised by Architects for Health and SALUS Global Knowledge Exchange, the programme will cover a range of important topics and tackle many of the key challenges facing healthcare systems across Europe, including:
• Systems and service transformation: integrating workforce change, innovative technology and the built environment
• Healthcare quality improvement: safety and value by design
• Technology: horizon scanning for disruptive innovation
• Arts and creativity: transforming the culture of care
• Specialist care: designing for aged care, cancer care, mental health, complex conditions and chronic disease
• Integrated care models: the hospital-community interface
• Future flexibility: plan for uncertainty, design for change
• Sustainable development: procuring, planning and designing for environmental, social and economic value
• Health promotion: designing healthy hospitals

Set to stimulate an exciting dialogue around the relationship between health service design, technology and the built environment, two of Perkins+Will experts will speak at the event.

Robin Guenther, Sustainable Healthcare Design Leader and keynote speaker, will present ‘Ten rules for 21st century healthcare: A US perspective on creating healthy, healing environments’ at session 7 on the 22 June at 17.00. David Green, Principal and Global Urban Design Leader (UK) will discuss ‘The 21st Century Heath District’ in session 5 on 22 June at 16.00.

Senior Medical Planner and Principal Bill Nation, Healthcare Director Joanna Marriott and Healthcare Associate Roy Carroll will also be attending the event from the London office, which is also a bronze sponsor at this year’s event.
