The Texas A&M ILSB is a 228,000 square foot (21,180 square meter) three-story new laboratory complex, constructed to enhance the University’s research interactions across disciplines. This Facility will enable A&M to recruit outstanding faculty, enhance its research reputation, and pursue major research funding. The three-story building is sited prominently across from the historic Simpson Drill Field and will serve as both a physical and conceptual link between the main campus life sciences corridor and the west campus research buildings.

The building includes 95,000 square feet (8,830 square meters) of modular laboratories and research offices to support chemical, biological and computational work. Core facilities include proteomics, genomics and structural biology labs which service the entire University’s research needs. Additional functions include a vivarium, limited wet teaching labs, 300-seat auditorium, coffee shop and large atrium to help foster cross-discipline collaboration. Labs and lab support facilities utilize modular casework to permit reconfiguration based on evolving research directions.
