The refurbishment of Linklaters global headquarters at Silk Street has not only enhanced the firm’s already successful reputation within the city of London, but has extended their global reach through technology and innovation.
The building had to remain in full occupation for the duration of the construction with minimal disruption. Linklaters insisted on a collaborative process and invested substantial time articulating its requirements through the steering group to achieve the best result for their clients and staff. Traditional values are rooted in Linklaters’ history and underpin their reputation in the city of London and globally. These values embrace integrity, intellectual vigour, and commitment while modern values embrace dynamism and innovation. The refurbished spaces were designed to reflect Linklaters’ key values and to communicate these values coherently and consistently to clients and staff. The client meeting and dining suites are consistent, ensuring that any member of staff can enter any meeting room and know where to find everything and how to use it. The auditorium was designed to accommodate any event imaginable; from lectures and seminars to round table discussions, staff poker nights, and concerts hosted by the Guildhall School of Music. The 400-seat ‘Silks’ restaurant is not only a place to dine, but also a place where staff can meet and, interact and has become the heart of the building. The refurbishment also incorporates a health and wellbeing suite, doctor, dentist, occupational health, gym, studio, dedicated cyclist changing room, treatment rooms as well as training rooms, pray rooms, and rest pods for staff use. The subtle use of the Linklaters ‘common thread’ or magenta brand colour throughout the refurbishment has created a sense of community, personality and has literally tied the entire scheme and people together.
This project has reinforced Linklaters’ standing within the realm of the ‘magic circle’ law firms, attracting and retaining the highest quality workforce that are inspired and excited about working for Linklaters.
