Juravinski Cancer Centre Redevelopment
Hamilton, Ontario, Canada
Completion Date: 2005
Square Footage: 107,600

Jurvinski Cancer Centre is the largest cancer centre in Southwestern Ontario. To create one central cancer treatment facility, it was essential to fit the expansion into the tight campus plan and link with the existing cancer centre.

Natural materials, such as limestone, textured glass and natural hardwoods are used throughout the building. Daylight and views to the exterior are used as a wayfinding device along the perimeter and atrium.

The facility includes an expansion from 6 to 12 radiation bunkers, an addition to expand systemic oncology, an outpatient clinic, professional offices and shelled space for future lab and outpatient clinic areas. Amenities include an interior patient garden in the chemo treatment area, gas fireplaces in the waiting area and an accessible green roof garden over radiation treatment facilities.
