Churchill Place, Canary Wharf, London
Square Footage: 1,000,000
Best Large Workplace, Finalist, 2005
Perkins+Will worked with the developers’ team including the base build architects, HOK, to select a building type (three options were initially presented) and modify the base building to optimise the floor plates including core and atrium locations to meet our clients’ requirements. We developed the strategic brief and fit out for the working floors and special areas of the 31-floor flagship building at Canary Wharf.
The scope of the briefing project included definition of business aims and efficiency targets, user surveys and workshops, development of FM and IT operational strategies, analysis of workplace options, and development of concept and scheme designs including finishes for all special areas. Five occupied, landscaped atria are a focal point of the building, providing coffee bars and break out spaces for staff and visitors. A staff restaurant, client meeting rooms, fine dining area, training suite, and a 200-seat auditorium provide further facilities to meet staff and client needs. We were also responsible for delivering a 40,000sqft data centre (tier 4) to service the building.
