Gina Berndt, managing director and principal of the Chicago office of global architecture and design firm Perkins+Will, has been inducted into the prestigious College of Fellows by the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) for her contributions to the interior design profession. IIDA recognized Berndt’s 30 years of leadership in the interior design industry, highlighting her work creating exceptional interdisciplinary design teams that have been honored with numerous awards and loyal repeat clients.
Under Berndt, who previously served as the firm's Global Interior Design Discipline Leader, Perkins+Will's Chicago office received the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Chicago chapter's Firm of the Year award. Berndt was named a Chicago Business Journal Woman of Influence in 2015, and was recognized as a Leadership Honoree in 2011 by the IIDA Illinois Chapter.
Admission to the College of Fellows is the highest honor paid by IIDA to its professional members. Berndt will be formally inducted June 12 during the IIDA Annual Meeting at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.
